David A. Snyder, Attorney
David A. Snyder has been a lawyer since 1980. He has been representing public safety labor organizations
and their members since 1987. His office is in Portland, Oregon.
After seven years litigating minimum wage, overtime and OSHA cases for the
U.S. Department of Labor in Boston, David moved to Oregon in 1987 to
join a firm representing public safety labor organizations in the
Northwest. In 1993 he went solo. He continued to represent public safety
labor organizations and in addition, his solo practice included
litigation on behalf of employees wage claims, discrimination and
wrongful termination.
Since 1987 David has arbitrated and won reinstatement for officers and fire fighters from Vancouver, Shelton,
Cowlitz County Fire and Rescue #2, Marion County, Josephine County, and
Portland. He has negotiated over 100 collective bargaining agreements in
Washington and Oregon. He has successfully represented Washington and
Oregon police labor organizations in interest arbitrations, most
recently Jefferson County Law Enforcement Association (Oregon) and King
County Corrections Guild (Washington). He has represented Washington
labor organizations before the State Court of Appeals and Supreme Court.
David has represented the Vancouver Police Officers Guild, the firms
largest client, since 1991.
David graduated from the University of Wisconsin Madison in 1977 and from the Boston College School of Law in
1980. He is admitted to practice in Oregon, Washington and Massachusetts
(inactive).
